This happy go band of theatre kids are both the reason I play pendulums and also the reason I don’t do theatre. Hello and welcome all, this deck list is currently the most fun I’m having in Masterduel. With the new support in the latest selection pack (Climax of the Showdown) giving way to Abyss Actor – Super Producer, Abyss Actors’ Dress Rehearsal, and Abyss Script – Dramatic Story, making this deck finally a solid rogue option.
The deck’s main purpose
This deck’s main strategy is to swarm the field turn 1 and then OTK going second. All while changing your opponent’s monster effects to pop your field to activate powerful graveyard effects.
The main deck is comprised of two types of cards. Abyss Actors (the pendulum monsters) and the Abyss Scripts (spells which have insane effects when destroyed by an opponent’s card effects).
While having a full extra deck, functionally its only made up of 3 copies of Hyper director and 3 copies of Super Producer (everything else is just prosperity fodder to be honest). This is mainly due to how xenophobic the archetype is and will stop you from special summoning any other cards. Abyss Actor – Mellow Madonna in particular even locking you out of the crucial Abyss Actor Link monsters.
The Main Combo
For this combo all you are going to need is Abyss Actor Extras (more cards of course help with your end board). This combo is a going first setting up for an OTK. We are just trying to survive the second turn here! Also bare in mind that this board is done with the absolute worst situation. Having 1 useful card in your entire starting hand. A lot of the time you are going to have something else in your hand to make you end board even more crazy.
This combo also works going second but instead send Abyss Script – Rise of the Abyss King to the graveyard with Curtain Raiser’s effect and then you can then get it back with Abyss Script – Abysstainment to get a huge board wiping effect.

–> Extras effect
–> Place Curtain Raiser onto scales
–> Special summon Curtain Raiser
–> Curtain Raiser effect
–> Send an Abyss Script of your choice to grave (personally I go with opening ceremony or dramatic story going first and Rise of the Abyss King going second)
–> Link into Hyper Director
–> Hyper Director effect
–> Special summon an Abyss Actor monster from the scales and then replace it with Wild Hope
–> Link into Super Producer
–> Super Producer effect
–> Destroy Wild Hope and replace it with Mellow Madonna
–> Wild Hope effect
–> Add Sassy Rookie/Superstar (Rookie for survivability and Superstar for the script if you already don’t have one)
–> Madonna effect
DO NOT ACTIVATE MADONNA IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY LINK SUMMONED SUPER PRODUCER as it LOCKs YOU INTO ONLY ABYSS ACTOR PENDULUMS!
–> Add Comic Relief
–> Now with the set scales Madonna and Comic Relief, Pendulum Summon Wild Hope, Extras, Superstar/Sassy Rookie and Curtain Raiser (and any other additional stuff you may have)
–> (Optional) if you have another card in the extra deck you can activate Curtain Raiser’s effect again as it is not a hard once per turn. This will further set you up with Abysstainment.
OK now if you searched Sassy Rookie stop here and end turn but if you searched Superstar
–> Superstar effect
–> Set Abysstainment
–> Activate Abysstainment
–> Tribute a monster (I recommend Extras or Curtain Raiser as fodder) to set back the 1 or even 2 Abyss Scripts you sent to the graveyard with Curtain Raiser’s effect
OK with this board. You have a way to activate Fantastic Theater on your opponent’s turn with Super Producer and if you destroy your Wild Hope, you get a search. Fantastic Theater monster having a hard once per turn “Any monster effect activated by your opponent becomes “Destroy 1 Set Spell/Trap your opponent controls”.” This in turn activates your crazy bonkers Abyss Scripts, such as the draw until you have 5, search 2 Abyss Actor cards, bounce back 2 cards to hand, Special summon up to 5 Abyss Actor monsters from deck. With this board you will most likely be seeing an OTK on your following turn.
This combo is very flexible and can be done with almost any 2 Abyss Actor monsters. This is all due to the powerful link monsters this deck has access to and it gives them some much needed consistency and reliability.
Good Cards to keep mind of
Abyss Actors’ Dress Rehearsal
Dress Rehearsal is one of the best support cards an archetype could ask for. Being a +1 in card advantage while searching out 2 of your best combo pieces. The only downside being that it can only be used at the start of the main phase and also locking you into only being allowed to pendulum summon Abyss Actor pendulum monsters for the rest of the turn.
Abyss Script – Rise of the Abyss King
This is a non-once per turn board wipe and a great OTK tool. It also has a pretty good graveyard effect too, adding any 2 Abyss Actor/Scripts to the hand. While also being able to be recycled with Abyss Script – Abysstainment to use again or set on the field. Keep in mind that this card only destroys face up cards on the field.
Abyss Playhouse – Fantastic Theater
While this card is amazing and can be placed directly from your deck at quick effect speed by Super Producer. It is a massive brick in your starting hand, and you almost never want to see it anywhere but your deck.
Abyss Actor – Comic Relief
While 90% of the time Comic Relief is just used for its high pendulum scale, it also has some pretty good utility on your second/third turn. As with its pendulum effect it can be a way to force the activation of your opponent’s negates. Thus letting you play the game more freely or to steal a very powerful boss monster from your opponent and swing for game. This silly little clown has some tricks up its sleeve.
