What is is Genesys format? It is the newest format of Yu-Gi-Oh! that puts a fun and creative twist on the game we all know and love. Unlike the TCG or OCG, Genesys has does not use a ban list. Instead, it uses a point system to grade or score cards. A player’s deck can only contain cards whose total score does not exceed a certain value. The standard point maximum is 100, but some tournaments or events may deviate from that. Most cards have a point value of 0, but other can be 100 just on their own! It is up to the duelist to get creative and form a deck that is both powerful and point-savvy. Having no ban list means that you can run cards like Pot of Greed, but it will cost you! Choose your cards wisely!
