Anyone who has ever played a video game knows the difference between a minion or grunt and the big, bad boss. It’s the same for Yugioh! Most of the monster cards in the game are comparable to minions, grunts, footmen, etc., but there are some monsters who take the cake as the deck’s true muscle. These monsters are called “boss” monsters, and they play a pivotal role in a deck’s power to win. Let’s take a look at some Yugioh boss monsters and what they are capable of.

What is a Boss Monster?

In Yugioh!, a boss monster is often the central powerhouse of the deck, the monster all other cards in your deck are geared towards summoning and supporting. A boss monster can be seen as the end game or ace card of a deck. If you can get your boss monster out and prevent your opponent form summoning theirs, chances are you will win the duel. Not always! But, you stand a much better chance. In the game there are several different types of boss monsters that help you win in different ways.
