Yugioh Rush Duels, similar to Speed Duels or Blitz Duels, is a totally unique alternate mainline Yugioh! format! This exclusive format was released alongside the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime in Japan. This format is generally only available in Japan and Korea. But, good news, Rush Duels are available on Dueling Nexus! Check it out!
Basic Rules
Rush Duels are still Yugioh!, but there are several major differences between Rush and OCG/TCG. For starters, the Field is very different. Rush features a Field of three Monster Zones, three Spell and Trap Zones, a Field Spell Zone, a Graveyard, a Deck Zone (of course!), and an Extra Deck Zone. There is no Extra Monster Zone, and there are no Pendulum Zones. There are no Rush Link, Xyz, Synchro, or Pendulum Monsters. However, Ritual Monsters in Rush Duels go in the Extra Deck, not the Mian Deck.

Another difference in the rules is that there is no Standby Phase or a Main Phase 2. Also, similar to the OCG, cards can only use their effects once while they are on the Field.
Summon, Summon, Summon!
Here is where things get interesting! In Rush Duels, there is no hand size limit, and there is no limit to how many times you can Normal Summon, Set, and Tribute Summon. No limit! Now, levels still mater, and level 5 or higher monsters still require tributes, but you can summon as many as you can each turn!
Each player also starts the duel with four cards in their hand. Each Draw Phase, the turn player draws cards so that they have 5 cards in their hand. If they already have 5 cards in their hand, they only draw one card.
Card Layout
The basic look of a Rush card is very similar to the normal look of a TCG/OCG card. They have a name, an Attribute, Type, Level, ATK/DEF etc. But, Rush cards also have a [Requirement] and an [Effect] on separate, defined lines. Many Rush players find this card layout easier to understand and use. Furthermore, Rush also has Legend cards. These cards range from powerful Spells, to nasty Traps, to epic Monsters, cards like Monster Reborn, Mirror Force, and Dark Magician are all Legend Cards. A player can only have one Legend card of each type in their deck, as if it were a Limited card on the banlist.

Maximum Summon
Rush also features a summoning mechanic that is unique to the format: Maximum Summoning. A Maximum Monster can be Maximum Summoned by having the monster in your Hand along with the two cards listed on that monster. Those other two monsters will share the same name as the Maximum Monster but with an [R] or an [L] in their name. When summoning this way, all three monsters are summoned as one single monster. This can be done if your Field is empty, or by sending all monsters you control to the GY.
Uniquely, a Maximum Monster, though made up of 3 separate monsters, counts as one monster with one attack. They also cannot be changed to defense position, much like a Link Monster. However, you do not have to Maximum Summon these monsters, you can simply Normal or Special Summon them, but they will not gain their effect.
