And if modern Yugioh! is not your taste, don’t worry, there are tons of retro formats to choose from that each offer their own snapshot of the game. Some of the most popular retro formats are Edison, Goat, HAT, Perfect Circle, TOSS, Bird-Up, Tengu, and REDU. With many others to choose from as well! DNX also offers Rush, Tag, OCG, and Genesys formats.
Archetypes
When it comes to choosing a deck, there are endless options. However, most decks can be broken down into archetypes, or united themes. An archetype is a group of cards that are tied together by name, theme, and playstyle. Usually the best place to start looking for a deck is how a deck plays. If you like combo decks look into P.U.N.K. or Zoodiac. Maybe you prefer control decks; give Labrynth, Eldlich, or Apophis a try. There are so many different options! And there are archetypes of unnumbered visual themes, too. Dragons, trains, wizards, bikers, athletes, firefighters, sea monsters, Vikings, cats, dogs, fish, birds, aliens, elves, fairies, coffee, sushi, zombie superheroes, magic rocks, so many options!
