The September 2023 TCG banlist goes into effect today, that means a new ranked season is starting on Dueling Nexus, as well as Battle Pass season 3! Here is a full list of new features coming out with the new TCG banlist:

• A Ranked Season reset, featuring the new September 2023 TCG Banlist.

• A new Battle Pass, featuring all-new exclusive Avatars, Sleeves, Borders, Frames, and Playmats based on popular archetypes, such as Nouvelles, Unchained, Sky Striker, and more!

• A New Rarity: Starfoil Rare.

• A Boutique refresh, with new Seasonal items featured for the current season.

Retro Formats are Coming

Debuting with Season 3 is a commitment to support retro formats! For now, we have implemented support for Master Rule 1 (2008) and Master Rule 2 (2011), available now in Custom Games.

Additionally, Pre-Errata cards are being added. These are classic cards that have had their effects changed over time. Pre-Errata cards feature their original effects from their original prints to promote integrity and authenticity when playing retro formats. You can find them in the Deck Builder with the new ERT symbol in their bottom-left. Additionally, cards that are not usable with the selected banlist now have an Illegal symbol in their top-left. You can filter for these with the new Limit: Pre-Errata filter.

What Comes Next?

We plan to release a few new features over the course of this season, including:

• Edison format, and potentially other Retro formats. These Retro formats will have full banlist, cardpool, and pre-errata card support.
• Titles will be implemented into the Boutique at a later date.
• Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal Challenges. These Challenges will allow players to level up faster, and receive additional Credits!
• Yugituber Partnerships. DNX Partners will receive an exclusive in-game code to distribute to their viewers, which will allow them to gain exclusive themed cosmetic items, as well as helping support their preferred yugitubers!

Additionally, we will hosting a DNX Developer AMA over on our Discord Server to celebrate the release of Season 3! Join the Stage with Yaya, Emony, Lyris, and Nyx as they walk you through the development of Dueling Nexus, tidbits and trivia, and answer your questions about the game and us.
