Link: Branded Bystial Despia Deck 2023
Welcome to my Branded Bystial Despia Deck profile for 2023, I’ve used this in both locals and tournaments and have had great success online getting to Platinum in ranked.
Going first, an ideal play is sending Gimmick Puppet Nightmare to the graveyard off Granguignol the Dusk Dragon or Foolish Burial, and using Branded Fusion to summon Albion the Incandescent Dragon using Blazing Cartesia the Virtuous and Fallen of Albaz, and then using Albions effect during your opponents turn to lock their field by summoning Gimmick Puppet to their field and Cartesia to yours, allowing you to fusion summon again. Gimmick Puppet Nightmare has a lingering effect and when summoned prevents your opponent from summoning.
Quem can be summoned to the field with Branded Opening, and can send a copy of Cartesia to the grave, and can summon it back when a card leaves the extra deck. Summoning Aluber the Jester of Despia would allow you to search any Branded card such as Branded Fusion, Branded Expulsion or alternative Fusion cards such as Branded in Red. Branded Fusion would allow you to quickly access your toolbox of extra deck monsters, and can setup Lubellion the Searing Dragon through any Dark monster and Fallen of Albaz, such as Dark Magician, allowing you to send Dark Magician and itself back to the deck with a discard for cost to summon out Red Eyes Dragoon, which would give you a negate and non targeting destruction effect.
The combos to extend include using cards that send to grave or banish such as Allure of Darkness, Branded Opening, Foolish Burial and Golden Sarcophagus to pitch Bystial Saronir or Despian Tragedy, or banish Mercourier or Tragedy to gain both the card advantage off their cost, as well as their effects when banished/sent to the grave, in order to send cards like Branded Retrubution to the grave in order to banish to add back resources, or to search for starters such as Aluber, Quem, Springans Kitt, Albaz or Cartesia. The Bystial Lubellion can be used to search any Bystial such as Saronir, which you can summon to the field by banishing a light or dark from the grave, which can be used to gain further advantage.
Cards like Branded Lost and Branded Regained can then be searched by Lubellion while on the field, and can help protect your plays, and gain further card advantage, while Crossout Designator can protect you from interruptions such as Ash Blossom or Called By the Grave by banishing a copy from your deck to negate your opponents’ card.
Going 2nd, you can use cards like Fallen of Albaz to ‘Super Poly’ away opponents extra deck monsters to summon out Mirrorjade the Iceblade Dragon by discarding a card from the hand, or use Branded in Red to summon Guardian Chimera to draw and destroy cards on the field.
Running dark attribute Kaiju’s or light attribute Santa Claws, allow you to deal with opponents monsters, while still being useful as resources for Allure or Bystial Saronir, or even as Branded Fusion targets.
Cards like Fusion Deployment can be used to instantly summon either Cartesia or Albaz to the field and use their effects to fusion summon using either your monsters on field or hand with Cartesia, or your opponents with Albaz, in order to summon cards Alba-Lenatus, Lubellion, Titaniklad, Mirrorjade or even Dracostepelia. Branded in Red is particular useful with cards like Ad Libitium of Despia, who when used as material for a fusion summon from the hand or field, can summon back any fusion monster in grave, allowing you get back cards like Mirrorjade once they’ve been destroyed.
