My Dinomorphia deck list for the upcoming 2023 format

The new format is likely to include Purrely, Superheavy Samurai (Shs), Mathmech, and possibly Kashtira, Spright, Runick depending on the banlist.  PurrelySuperheavy Samurai (Shs), and Mathmech have already proven themselves, in the OCG, to be as reliable as the best decks of the last format. Luckily for us, these decks are weak to floodgates, which is where Dinomorphia deck list shines.

Dinomorphia is a trap-based deck, meaning it primarily uses traps to disrupt the opponent’s plays. What sets Dinomorphia apart from a typical Joy trap deck is its easy access to a powerful fusion boss monster and its ability to halve your life points to activate powerful trap cards.

How to play

The main goal of the deck is to use Dinomorphia Frenzy to combo off, Cl-1 Dinomorphia Frenzy (2 “Dinomorphia” monsters with different names are sent to the GY as fusion materials for Dinomorphia Kentregina), Cl-1 Dinomorphia Kentregina (Banishes Dinomorphia Frenzy as cost; 1 “Dinomorphia” Fusion Monster + 1 “Dinomorphia” monster are sent to the GY)~ Dinomorphia Rexterm is summoned.

The starters for the deck are Dinomorphia Frenzy and Dinomorphia Domain, which allow you to fusion summon Dinomorphia Kentregina and then Dinomorphia Rexterm. Other cards like Dinomorphia Therizia, Trap Tracks, and Trap Trick can place a trap, such as Frenzy, from your deck to one of your spell/trap zones.

Dinomorphia Rexterm stops the activation of monster effects, if the monster has higher or equal attack to your life points. By halving your life points, you can change the attack value of all your opponent’s monsters to be equal to your current life points, making Rexterm’s effect at worst a monster negate and at best even a Skill Drain on legs.

Dinomorphia Kentregina is a level 6 monster with 4000 attack points, making her the strongest of her kind. Her first effect allows her to copy a Dinomorphia trap’s effect, making her both a beat-stick and an extender, disruptor, and recovery card.

Side deck

The side deck includes cards for both going first and going second, as well as matchup-specific cards. Harpie’s Feather Duster can handle backrow-heavy decks. Forbidden Droplet can negate the opponent’s monsters when going second (set it to later chain if the opponent tries to negate Frenzy), and Evenly Matched works as a board breaker against combo decks or backrow-heavy decks. Different Dimension Ground (DDG) can shut off the graveyard, which can take games by itself in the right match-up. Dinomorphia Alert can recover your Dinomorphia monsters, it should be used when you know the game will be in a grind game. Magic Deflector, if facing the right deck, can take games by itself. Lastly, Dinomorphia Sonic can be sided in to have a spell/trap negate to contest backrow removal by the opponent.
