Overview
Everyone who knows Yu-Gi-Oh! knows about the three Egyptian god cards; but did you know there is a fourth Egyptian god card? Holactie the Creator of Light! Not only is this goddess an Egyptian god card, but it’s a super powerful card that uses all three of the other Egyptian god cards to win you the duel just by having her on your Field!

Admittedly, there are actually several Egyptian gods mentioned in Yu-Gi-Oh! like, End of Anubis; Hapi, the Guidance of Horus; Horus the Black Flame Dragon; and Mystical Beast of Serket, but the only gods to possess the DIVINE attribute are Slifer the Sky Dragon, Obelisk the Tormentor, and The Winged Dragon of Ra (as well as a couple of Ra support cards), and Holactie the Creator of Light. Slifer, Obelisk, and Ra are also the only cards with the Divine-Beast monster Type. Holactie herself is the one and only card in the entire game with the monster Type of Creator God. In Yu-Gi-Oh!, the three Egyptian gods are special cards that boast a lot of power, and they are even more powerful in the manga and anime. But, Holactie is even more mighty than the other three DIVINE monsters. Let’s take a closer look at Horakhty and what makes her so unique.
Card Effect

First, her effect. Holactie has an instant win effect, similar to Exodia the Forbidden One or Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes. Holactie’s effect is: “Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 3 monsters whose original names are ‘Slifer the Sky Dragon’, ‘Obelisk the Tormentor’, and ‘The Winged Dragon of Ra’. This card’s Special Summon cannot be negated. The player that Special Summons this card wins the Duel.” Summon all three Egyptian gods, tribute them, then you win! This is a pretty straightforward alternate win condition, but it is much harder than it sounds. Even with additional support printed for the three Egyptian gods, they are all three still pretty difficult to get out on the board at one time.
Being an alternative win condition in itself, Holacite the Creator of Light is designed to be difficult to Special Summon, but if you can manage to meet the requirements, it’s a unique way to win the duel outside the game’s usual parameters. Here is a replay from the Dueling Nexus YouTube channel that demonstrates the power of Holactie: Yu-Gi-Oh! Summoning ALL 3 GOD CARDS On 1st Turn!
Lore, History, and Anime Appearance

Holacite isn’t just a win gimmick; her story is pretty cool, too. She is based on a concept called Ra-Horakhty, a synchretic form of Ra and Horus, both deities of the sun in ancient Egyptian mythology. In ancient Egyptian mythology, Ra sails across the sky as the sun and has different aspects depending on where he is in the sky, such as dawn, noon, and dusk. Ra is a god of creation, and the sun was a source of creation and life, as the light it provides keeps the Earth alive. Ra-Horakhty is a life-giving, light-creating force.
Holactie is only available in the OCG, and is a legal card, but it is one of the rarest cards ever released. There are only 10,000 copies of this card, as it was a special promotional card released in a raffle in Japan. Copies of this card can cost you anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000! And the beautiful artwork was created by Kazuki Takahashi himself, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh!
In the anime, Holactie appears in “In the Name of the Pharaoh.” In this episode, Zorc Necrophades faces off against Yugi, and Zorc was about to launch a devastating attack against him and his friends. However, Atem stepped in and released the three Egyptian gods, fused them into Holactie, and defeated Zorc. Holactie told the Pharaoh that she had helped him recover his name. This encounter would be the final act before Yugi helped the Pharoah return into the afterlife.
Holactie is a very important part of the anime, and a very cool part of the card game, too! The story behind this card, and the journey it has made, is one of the many unique stories in the ongoing history of Yu-Gi-Oh!
