How to play

This Melffy deck list, like most others, revolves around a control style by using Kalantosa Mystical Beast of the Forest to pop key cards, accompanied by Merry Melffys, Naturia Beast and Melffy of the Forest for additional levels of disruption. However, it has a more aggressive edge with two separate 2-turn clock strategies.

The first is to summon Alpha the Master of Beasts (whether naturally if going second, or by using Mlffy Staring Contest paired with the single copy of Melffy Rabby to weaken opponent monsters to keep your field while allowing the monsters to gain their strength during the end phase to fulfill Alpha’s summoning condition) and equip it with Armory Arm, making it a 4000 ATK monster that always deals the full 4000 damage if it destroys a monster by battle thanks to Armory Arm’s effect.

The second strategy is to have Joyous Melffys and Cat Shark on the field at the same time. This combo, with Cat Shark targeting Joyous Melffys for its effect, turns Joyous Melffys into a 4K direct attacker. Melffy Pinny can be used to ensure both of these rank 2 Beast Xyz monsters have material at the end of each turn, and in the case of Cat Shark, also gives it battle protection, so it is recommended to summon it in defense.

Both of these strategies, paired with Bujinki Ahashima and Melffy Pinny together allowing for virtually infinite backrow destruction and the usual Melffy loop of control, makes for a surprisingly competent strategy, further bolstered by the protection offered by Melffy Hide and Seek, and Staring Contests being a fine safeguard against threatening monsters (Rabby’s 2100 defense making it perfect with the battle effect of Staring Contest to weaken opponent monsters)

If all else fails, the option to load up Xyz material and flip Melffy Playhouse to bounce the opponents entire field and pump the Melffy Xyz monsters to ludicrous OTK levels is always a fun backup strategy as well!
